My Church

My church is Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church of Clyde, NC.  It’s a small church for now – we’re still looking for 100 in Sunday morning worship.

My church is traditional, conservative, and friendly.

I don’t always “agree” with my church, but I love my church.  I love the people, and I love the atmosphere that has finally developed there.  We’ve had our struggles, and we’ve lost some members.

What I most love is that we have finally come to a place where following Jesus Christ, the King of Kings, is really important.  I hope and pray that we will become a church that truly worships Him in everything that we do.  That doesn’t necessarily mean contemporary worship music and a full band, even though I would love to see some of both.  What it most means is that we are completely delighted to worship God and glorify Him in every moment of our lives, and especially when we are together.

I have the wonderful opportunity of teaching the youth Sunday School class, and I hope to soon transition into some more youth stuff.  I’m looking to start a monthly Wednesday night youth “meeting” of sorts, and we’ll see how that goes.

I also get to play piano for the choir, do some special music from time to time, and I’m usually involved in our Christmas play.

I hope we can cross the “100″ point in 2009, and I’m specifically praying for 20 salvations at the church before summer.

If I can get Pastor Daryl to blog, I will have really accomplished something.
